Now, I would consider £32 for two to be very cheap.

Like many Britons, I'm amazed at how cheap things are in the US.
I know that waiters are paid very little, but restaurants still have to buy food, heat and light the place, pay taxes etc.
You just wonder how much farmers are paid over there.

I liked your approach of posting the cost of things as it is what it is, yet at the same time thinking out the best way to save money where possible without cutting corners.

Really pleased I was able to offer help and so happy you enjoyed yourself. It looks like you used every second to do something interesting. I think your visit report sets a very high standard for others to follow.

Gratuities, well as you know it is difficult and tend to line up with flanneruk in as much you should try to do what the locals do but if not sure do what you think is right.
