TDudette- I travelled to England and Ireland a few years ago taking only old clothes (and shoes) that I was going to throw away. It was great having my luggage get lighter and lighter as the trip went on. In contrast, my traveling friend kept buying books and his got heavier and heavier! Only by weighing in together we we able to keep from overweight fees.

Love it, bigtyke! Sorry anndaquino for getting off the subject!

TDuduette...no problem! In fact, after thinking about it, I'm really liking the idea of taking old (but decent) clothes i already have and having husband take the jacket he already has. Also love the idea of raiding the salvation army and consignment shops for anything new (to me). I have experienced the travel phenomenon of wanting to *burn* the clothes i wore day in, day out while in europe. Great solution and in keeping w/the 'no more stuff' feelings i've been having lately! Happy Holidays to all.
