Are the prices on Swiss Cottage Cars website per person or per party?
|
I had a look at justairports.com. My hotel is located in W2. There is a big difference in price depending on whether it is paid in cash or credit card. For cash the return journey is 45 pounds, but for credit card payment it is 70 pounds.
The rates for Swiss cottage is per car, each passenger allowed 1 piece of luggage plus a hand piece. |
I sent a booking to justairports.com last week but received no reply. I sent email a few days later asking if they could confirm my booking but haven't received a reply to email either. So, think I'll just go with Swiss Cottage. I read a post somewhere on this board about justairports not replying to bookings/emails so it doesn't seem that they are reliable.

I sent an e-mail with some questions to justairports.com yesterday afternoon. I had a reply with a firm price quote this morning when I got into work.

Is it the general concensus that if you are staying in the Victoria Station area that the National Express is the way to get in from Heathrow?
Is this in terms of speed, cost or what? I am interested in the fastest way to get to Victoria at about 1300 on a Wednesday. Thanks. |

I'd guess that the quickest way would be to get the Heathrow Express into Paddington (takes 15 minutes) then Tube it down to Victoria. It should be quicker than the coach. Unfortunately you'd have to change underground lines at Oxford Circus, which is a pain if you've got lots of luggage. So, it's not necessarily the easiest. |
maccy: you'd have to be a glutton fo punishment to change lines at Oxford Circus w/ luggage. Especially since one can simply get on the Circle Line at Paddington and get off at Victoria. A LOT easier route if you are weighed down with stuff.

Just a quick update on Justairports.com. I did hear from them after a couple of days and have booked with them from LHR to Bloombury area, GBP 27 which includes 40 minutes waiting time. Add'l minutes of waiting time are 25 pence. Return transport is GBP 22.
Pretty good rates. Pat. |
Pat,
Please report back on their service, thanks. |
Just returned from London
Arrived at LHR in afternoon so took the Picadilly line to Kings Cross Fast and inexpensive. Had a 9:15 AM return flight and didn't want to chance missing it so I took the Hotelink van directly from the hotel to LHR Cost was 15 pounds per person. wwwhotelink.co.uk London has been having trouble with their underground system of late so I would not chance going to LHR by tube unless you have plenty of time to make your flight You may want to consider the Airbus if it stops near your hotel Don |
Hi Pat in chicago,
The rates you quoted for Justairports,(GBP 27 and 20), is that for cash payment ? I understand if paid by credit card, it is a lot more expensive. Where is Bloomsberry, is it in W2 ? |
The rates quoted by justairports are for cash payment only. I didn't ask for a quote for credit cards as their website offered the higher rates on credit cards.
We're staying at Radisson Marlborough which is W1, I think. |
I believe Bloomsbury is WC1.
