Travel Snacks
I'm going to spend over 25 days traveling through Europe and I'm looking for ideas on what travel snacks are best to pack. Any suggestions?
That would depend on your mode of travel for your stay. But I find that lightweight healthy snacks include:

-Dried Fruit
-Rice Cakes
-Oatmeal packets
-Soup packets

Hope that's a help. Bon Voyage
Don't PACK any! Go into stores while your traveling and pick something the locals would!
I always take a jar of peanut butter. A spoonful provides a good source of protein and it's a good breakfast if you spread it on some locally purchased bread.
Balance bars.
I wouldn't want to be on a train with you if you've been eating dried fruit. If you get the drift of the color of my wind.

Do as Liz suggests. Save room for shoes.
Shop at whereever you are and buy the local food and find a beautiful spot to enjoy it. You'll discover new tastes and it gives you a chance to interact with the locals.
On every trip I bring a whole bunch of Outdoor Balance Bars and on every trip I bring home a whole bunch of Outdoor Balance bars.

Don't bring too many snacks. Inevitably one eats three meals a day while traveling in Europe because we want the experience of eating "their" food. It's so much more fun then a Balance Bar. But bring a few of that type of thing just in case.
Sorry.I may be stupid , but what do you need snacks for..They do eat in all parts of europe!
I take Balance Bars on every trip and find that I eat them all. In lieu of taking time out for lunch, I snack on a bar while out sightseeing and then save my hunger (and money) for a nice dinner out.
I wouldn't pretend food like balance bars when I can get a hunk of cheese a tomato or fruit and bagette for about the equivelent of $1 anywhere? I do sometimes pick up small packets of biscuits (cookies) or crisps (chips) as I go along so I can nibble if I am on a long drive or far from a shop.
What the "H" is a Balance Bar???????????

Ever tried fruit, a baguette, nuts, cheese..or do you really need something manufactured in the good old USA for profit to make you feel good? Probably if you checked it out carefully you'd find it lacking !
I wouldn't EAT pretend food . . . .

Why oh why don't they have an edit program on here :-0
Got that right Janis..they do need an edit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely raisins. They keep well, they are juicy and they help with regularity.
Twinkies, Yodels, Fiddle-Faddle, Chex Mix, Snowballs, and Oscar Mayer Lunchables. You cannot get them anywhere in Europe.
ELVIRA>>>GO TO YOUR ROOM>>>>>>>TOO FUNNY!!!!!
curious; It's a protein/vitamin type of energy bar that can replace a meal. Some are healthier than others. You have to read the labels. It's food on the run that's easy. No big deal. U

Unlax, baby, take your shoes off and put the old dogs up and set a spell. Sounds like you need a good 'ol body to body massage-- the old fashioned way.
Why buy snacks? I bring my knapsack down to the breakfast room in my hotel, and load up on those packets of fette biscotti. Yeah, it's like eating cardboard, but it's free!
We were nervous about food in Egypt so brought crackers, dried fruit, peanut butter, etc. Gave most away to kids on the street and traded the rest for trinkets. If we could find food in Egypt, you can probably find snacks in Europe. I have tried all those "nutrition bars" and all that I can say good about them is that they pack well. They all taste like sawdust.
