Transportation from Spain to Austria

Hello...traveling to Spain in late March and then onto Austria the first week of April. What is the best way to travel between countries? Rail? Plane?

Plane - I hear there are local companies like Southwest....any recommendations?
Rail - is there a train that goes from Spain to Austria?

So far...all the flights that I have searched...have long stop overs. Don't want to waste the day.

See whichbudget.com - it would help if you could name the cities you are travelling between

Check out Veuling and Air Berlin. They have pretty reasonable prices.

you don't want to waste a day - if you take a train then most certainly you will

Without your city to city info. cannot help with the train - but
Barcelona to Innsbruck near 17 hours.

In Austria, Salzburg and Vienna will have more flight options than Innsbruck. You can also use Munich as a gateway to Austria.

we have not decided where we are leaving from. my timeshare is in marbella...and my next timeshare destination is st johann(salzburg)...we do want to go to vienna too. we have found that getting to vienna much cheaper than salzburg.

the thought was to stay in vienna for a couple days and then spend the rest of the week in salzburg.

From Marbella your next airport will be Malaga.
If you don't find any low-cost airlines to Salzburg or Vienna, you could also check Ryanair for Malaga-Bratislava (plus a bus transfer to Vienna city center).

we have decided to fly from malaga to salzburg. is $350 for a one way flight ridiculous for that flight? should i keep looking for something cheaper. this the rate we found on skyscanner.

Is that the Air Berlin flight? Look at the site I mentioned above.

ryanair has flights from about $20 plus fees and suitcases, etc. from malaga like mentioned. check it out. if you DO fly them though, remember you need to get your boarding card STAMPED for approval at their ticket office if you do not hold EU passport.
