translate "couverts" please
When making a restaurant reservation by email they have a "fill in the blank" type reservation request. What is "couverts"? (Cover?? what). Je ne parle pas francais.
|
Covers. IE the number of places you require.
|
Sooo - "couverts" would be for the number of persons and "pour" is maybe the time???
|
Yes, "couverts" refers to "place settings".
|
Pour is the french for 'for' so probably the site is asking for the number of people in your party.
Temps is the french for 'time'. |
|
Hi,
if asking for a reservation, "heure" would be the translation for "time" pour quelle heure ? |
Yes, as others have said, couverts = covers (in restaurant speak), i.e. place settings.
It also means cutlery. |
"4 couverts pour 20h" would be "a party of 4 at 8 p.m."

Maybe you should give a link to the site you're looking at or list the questions that are asked to get complete help.
|
Thanks!! I believe kerouac has it right for that site. It has couverts_____________________ pour_________________.
Happy travels!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Thanks for the website that translates. I will add it to my favortie list.

The phrase "mon aéroglisseur est plein des anguilles" will cover pretty much all you need in a restaurant.
|
Of course you mean d'anguilles, CW. Stop teasing us about your mastery of French.
