tour of Jewish ghetto
Hi all,
I will be in Venice for 4 days mid October. A friend did a walking tour through the Jewish Ghetto there but all I can find are tours about Jewish food. I live in New York - don't need to learn about the food. Does anyone have leads about serious walk through synagogues and history of the ghetto?? As always - thanks. |
There’s this one.
https://www.contexttravel.com/cities...sh-ghetto-tour Your friend might have used a private guide, or even a seasonal one. Seems like your best lead would be to ask them? |
I took this tour last fall, http://www.museoebraico.it/en/guided-tours. Saw three of the five synagogues and our guide was informative and entertaining. He mentioned that he’d previously toured both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Henry Kissinger.

Synagogues - Museo Ebraico di Venezia
I have also taken tours through the museum. The website gives you all the info on synagogues, tours, etc. If you can't arrange a tour online, just go to the museum when you get to Venice to pick your tour and buy tickets. It is very interesting as is the surrounding area. |
Thanks. Will follow up on this.
My friend didn't remember how she found the tour Thanks again. Appreciated. |
Contact Roberta Curiel at Walks Inside Venice. Great tour guide and she has written a book on the Venetian Ghetto. https://www.walksinsidevenice.com/who-we-are.php

I imagine that the Jewish food in Venice is nothing like the Jewish food in New York. So a food tour might also be interesting.

That's great!!!
Thanks so much. Will book it right now. |
