Toulouse weather
On Intellicast it predicts that Toulouse will be 100 degrees (37-38 celcius) on Sat
Wow! Does it get that hot often in that area? |
It does get hot in Toulouse in summer but 38°C is very hot
Temperatures in the area are very high at the moment (+ 30°) and will remain so for the next 10 days. |
If you go to Weather Underground it gives you actual weather for a specific period for a number of years. Here is period from 15-30 August.
http://www.wunderground.com/history/...atename=France You'll see that it doesn't usually get that hot - but it did last year for 2 days. We have our village Fete des Crepes the weekend after 15th August holiday, and last year it was around 40 on that weekend. Cooking 5000 crepes and 300 meals wasn't too enjoyable. And now it appears that it will be almost as hot again. Oh well, we'll drink lots of water (and a bit of wine) |
We won't be in Toulouse and The Dordogne until Mid Sept. but that high temp. weather forecast caught my eye.
Last year we were in Paris in late Sept. early Oct. and it was the hottest of any of our trips there in the last 10 years. 40---now that's really getting up there. Yes, lots of water and for wine it would have to be a nice cold Rose. Actually, high 70's and 80's would be terrific. Thanks for the weather underground site. We'll keep watching. |
been there several Deptembers - in the area that is and that should be a delightful time - mid 70s usually and dry.
|
Toulouse is exceptionally hot this August. Things should calm down before long.
|
I'll try to remember that as I'm slaving over a hot gas stove making hundreds of crepes on Saturday!
|
Making hundreds of crepes---how many will you eat? Does wine really go with crepes?
|
I wont eat many at all - just the 'mistakes' - the ones that stick. And cider goes better than wine. There are actually 14 crepieres who work for many hours. Then on Sunday I work on the meal, setting tables and cooking several hundred pieces of confit, serving, dancing - and drinking some rose. Worst part is Monday, when we clean up.
