What the heck does topping mean?

does this question ever stop being asked!!!!!!! It's almost humorous, if it weren't becoming so annoying.

It's when someone helpful finds an old thread and posts on it so that it rises to the top.<BR><BR>Please fodors, make this an FAQ

No problem. But I was a hair's breadth from doing what jeez did. It does get asked about three times a week I think.<BR><BR>Mind you I never read the FAQs on a web site eitehr:)

maybe each morning, someone should top an old top of the topping subject~that will answer all the topless who want to ask daily about topping.

Everyone has forgotton when they first learned how to use their computer and did not know the jargon, what it was like. Many of us asked that question, danb, don't let them get you down.

Why do people top? The topped post never stays near the original post and who knows when the original poster will get back to their computer to look at the topped post.

If you also post to the original thread saying "I've topped Thread X for you," the person will know to look for Thread X and know approximately what time it was topped.

tonite is the first time i have checked fodors in almost a year. after seeing that capo, along with every other sarcastic no life, is posting hogwash to every topic i have searched, i remember why i stopped using it for information. you people need a chatroom, not a message board!

Two weeks or even two years later, that makes any thread instantly, permanently easy to retrieve.
