Today is my 44th Birthday

Today is my 44th birthday and I treated myself to a round trip ticket from Newark to Paris (one glamorous destination to another). I got a great buy, $423 on Lufthansa via Frankfurt for November 13-25. This is my 7th trip to Paris.

I also just became STAR ALLIANCE GOLD status which means I can fly coach and use the business class lounges and I will aslo get double miles for a total of about 16,500 frequent flyer miles.

Oh did I mention I added on 4 days business in London too? This is my 7th trip to London.

I am not bragging.

Congratulations and happy birthday. I've found that having airline status dramatically changes the experience and economics of travel for me. Happy Contrails!

Well you get to use the lounge and sit in perferred seats!

I made a big pot of Coq au Vin.....

Budman Sep 7th, 2004 05:48 PM

richard, we flew Lufthansa a few times to Munich and Paris all via Frankfurt. The transfers in Frankfurt were about 1 hour and our luggage did not make it to us at our destination. Make sure you carry on a change of clothes and some toiletries. Have a nice trip. ((b))

Richardab, one of my all-time favorite Fodor post is your description of your trip to Italy in 2000(?). I've since eaten at one of the restaurants that you recommended in Rome. Happy birthday, Joe

Happy birthday, Richard. I hope this year is a terrific one for you. Certainly sounds like it's going to be!

I'll trade you your birthday for mine (this Saturday); one short of a "full deck".

Best wishes,

Rex

Happy Birthday. Good choice for a gift to yourself. Have a great time!

richardab Sep 7th, 2004 07:26 PM

P.S. to Budman.... I almost always fly Lufthansa to Europe with connections and never have a problem. I usually try to get flights that have over 1 hr for connections. I find Lufthansa to be the most reliable airline i have ever flown. OK, the flight attendants do kiss your butt, but nor do they on United!

BUON COMPLIANNO! Your birthday was just two days after mine, but I am younger!!! BUT YOU GET TO GO TO PARIS! Have a fantastic trip and don't forget to post when you get back.

Happy birthday! It is my birthday, too. I'm a bit younger but didn't get anything as fun as you!

Beatchick Sep 7th, 2004 09:17 PM

Oh! So that explains why you're such an exemplary list-maker!!

From one Virgo to another:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
