Understood. I'm curious what airline has an international (not intra-Europe/Schengen zone) departure at 6:30am.

An intra-Europe/schengen zone flight (i.e. to Frankfurt or Paris, then connecting on to the US) would be treated like a domestic flight and nobody will be there 2 1/2 hrs before departure.

That's a good point, I forgot I have to catch a connecting flight, so what is normal check in time for intra-Europe ?

Did you ever go to Ostia Antica from Fiumicino? How did it work out with taxi, bus or train?

We are doing the same with a 5-hour layover and want to try it. Spent 6 hours there a couple of years ago and want to go back, even for 2 hours or so.

Will you be back by the may 31? If so would you let me know how it went and what you decided to do, I have the same scenario, and would like to hear your feedback :)

This thread is 3 years old. If you want current feedback it would make sense to start a new thread.
