Tuscany (Do I have to be more specific?)I would take: passport, underwear, and a book. If only...
|
I would go to ITALY! The second love of my life. The first is my fiancee who I would never leave home without him.
I would then change into hiking shoes, grab my passport and our Italy phone so we can call our family and friends to tell them of our good fortune. Ciao. |
but if you bring your spouse whose going to bring the rest of your stuff along?
|
I thought this was an interesting question, so out of curiosity I asked my husband last night what his answer would be. He said he would go to Kosovo. I said, "Kosovo?"
He said he would use his "Millionaire Fantasy Trip," and the 10,000 Euro to feed starving children in Kosovo. Ok, I've officially been put to shame. |
Bravo for hubby, Statia.
That reminds me of an inside story. During our 8 week sojourn celebrating our 40th anniversary my lovely Susan kept wearing this brown raincoat. I told her one day she looked like a Kosovo refugee in it--not so tactful, huh. So, she decided to give it away at the end of the trip in Munich. We offered it to the bell captain at the hotel to find it a good home. He smiled and said his favorite charity was the Kosovo relief fund and he would give it to them. I just knew it ! |
My husband IS in Kosovo right now teaching at the Kosovo Summer University in Pristina. He took more than 4 things!
|
Hmmm Sally, Summer in Kosovo--it has a ring to it. Do you plan to join him?
|
Destination: either the Azores or Greek islands (I wanna be an island girl)
Taking: Passport Credit cards Comfy walking shoes My Palm Pilot so I have the phone numbers of people who can look after our cats Now, my question is, does hubby get his own list of four items? He says the destination would be Monaco (figuring we'd branch out from there). His list: Passport Credit cards Camera a hot rod magazine (yes, really!) Ironically, I'm too young to remember the show, but my husband remembers it well. |
Just got back from 2 weeks in Skopje, Macedonia. I visited Pristina twice as well as making my first trip to Belgrade!
So bobthenavigator the answer is been there ... done that ;) |
Haven't read all the replies but...
1)Passport 2)Husband 3)List of phone nums and addresses of family and friends 4)Change of underwear (or can I stretch it to a little ready-packed overnight bag with undies and toiletries?) Where to go is the harder question - I'm in London and going to Europe is easier from here than in the US. If I couldn't persuade my kind benefactor to let me choose a diffetent continent I might ask if we could ditch the plane and stay right here in London. If that didn't work either I think I'd choose Paris (since, although I've been often enough it does have a great range of truly luxurious hotels and top class restaurants that would normally be way out of my reach). Or maybe Venice, same reasons. Or I'd opt for somewhere we haven't been yet such as Florence. Hmmmmmmmmmm... <Kavey gives up on doing any work this afternoon since she's just going to end up day dreaming> |
Oh yes, I did miss the camera.
I guess I'd ditch the contact details and take the camera since I know the numbers and addresses for nearest and dearest anyway. And as for comfy shoes, I'm guessing my benefactor would let me put some on since I'm bare feet at the moment. |
PARIS, bien sur!!!!
Bob did say that the trip was for two, so even though my hubby will be coming, I am not counting him in the four items: Xanax, camera, passport, clean underwear. |
Hmmm. I think Italy (Rome and the Amalfi coast) since we are already scheduled to go to Paris and Andalucia in the fall. Since the deal already includes one other person, the 4 things would be:
My purse (already includes a number of the things I need) Passport comfortable shoes (but maybe I should always have comfortable walking shoes on so I can bring my travel diary) perscription meds |
