You need to click on the promotion to see what the fine print says. In this case, the discount isn't applicable to the prix fixe menu or drinks. Each person must order a minimum of a starter plus main or main plus dessert and it's valid for up to 4 persons at lunch or dinner Monday through Friday or dinner on Saturday. Basically it gives you a 40% discount off of the a la carte prices with a minimum order.

You can find the carte here http://www.carredesfeuillants.fr/pdf/pinxo_carte.pdf We had dinner there 2 years ago and thought it was fine but not worth going out of your way for (we were staying in the attached hotel). I think it cost us less than 150 for 2 with wine.

I would imagine it might be common for any discount to only apply to choices from "a la carte", not from the daily prix fixe or "menu". After all, those are lower already.

When the site states: 40% off sur la carte, does that mean when we are party of two that we will get 40% one main course or off two main course?>>

assuming that it says that there is a discount of 40% on the a la carte, that's what it means - if you order a la carte [not a menu] and the bill for food would come to €100, you pay €60. so if one of you has a menu, and the other one eats a la carte, only the a la carte one would get the discount. but if you both order a la carte, you both get the discount - no matter how few or how many courses.

it normally excludes drinks [boissons] and service.

no matter how few or how many courses

Except in the case of the particular restaurant mentioned, they require you to order at least 2 courses per person to get the discount.

Communicate with them and be prepared to be bombarded with numerous e mails.

My reply to 4ddawgs82 regarding where to sit is probably too late. For others: When I reserved on the website, I didn't specify my table preference. When we arrived, we were directed to the cave and I would have preferred to be on the ground floor. I told them so...to no avail. However, we had a superb meal and the atmosphere was great.

I suggest that you mention your sitting preference on the website. I certainly will.
