Run from the World ...hide. Teach your childern how to hide, and were and how to let go...try Venice..anytime but summer...too may tourists!! If you want to stay stae side, Try Provincetown...a great place to let go and relax. No pressure in either city!!!!

Yosemite Nov 20th, 2002 09:56 AM

Yosemite National Park in California in early June was the best place I've ever been. 4 nights - 3 full days was not enough time to explore the entire park. It is truly a majestic place. The waterfalls (go in late Spring or early Summer, they are glacial) and rock formations are like nothing I've seen before. The hiking (get "Great Walks of Yosemite" and definitely drive up to Glacier Point and hit the Taft Point hike on the way down) is the best. The valley is very touristy, but that Great Walks book will take you to some more remote places.

I've been to Italy, Portugal and many destinations in the US. None have been better than Yosemite. If you like photography, hiking, nature, etc. you must see Yosemite at some point.

Dear Jen. I can suggest you Malta. The island where I was born and still live. Reasons:(1) if you like history, you can find pre historic temples, cart ruts ect. (2) if you like the sea, malta is so small that in few minutes, you can find sandy or rocky beaches. (3)if you like night life, you can find it as well and it's very safe for the kids. (4} about food, we have alot of traditional and international restaurants. The only problem is you might get little fat as for me maltese food is very good. Hope I was a good help.

Haven't found the best place yet, but am having fun trying. Favorite so far, the Kia Ora Sauvage, Rangiroa, French Polynesia.

Hi Jen,
The best place in the world is Turkey.Because if you visit Turkey;
*You can learn about mythology
*You have sea,sun and sand triority
*You see all the historical places
*You see the first and antique places related to Christianity(Christianity was named first in Anatolian side of Turkey. The church St.Paul is in Turkey.
*You see the Turkish Delight(Belly Dancer:)))
*Shopping is wonderful there.Because everything especially carpets and gold is so cheap that you can buy all of them
*You visit all the churches, mosques, underground cities, special Turkish Nights
*You taste their traditional drink"RAKÝ"
Shortly if you visit Turkey once, you will go there again.Time will not be enough. And it is cheaper than Greece.
I can higly recommend you that web-site www.reservingturkey.com
[email protected] is the sales manager of the company and
she is a nice girl. Be sure that arranges for you the best accomodation and the price..
Have a nice holiday...
Jen,
Try Cardiff, Wales in the late spring. Or in the southern hemispere try Hobart, Tasmania - again in the spring.
Finally Liverpool is great at any time but I was born there so I am biased!

BJ Jan 11th, 2003 08:08 AM

Lots of folks with lots of good ideas, interesting thread ! However, I suggest you rent an RV and see America. Many people recommended "seeing the USA" and for your children it would be a wonderful "history" lesson. Take an entire summer; go wherever the road leads you. Don't pen yourself in with a firm plan, just hop in and GO ! Stop where the scenery or activity welcomes you...get off the beaten path and explore and discover all this land has to offer. And you'll find that this type of vacation also allows you to *discover one another as a family. Have fun !
