Oh thanks for your kind words of encouragement, Doc. I do, I do love 'em up at HQ. Just wish they could see me here jumping up and down and waving and imploring "send mine, send mine, please." I've been waiting SO long!

Change me from a 'have not' to a 'have'. Received the famous padded envelope two days ago with the pin. I did not even send an e-mail to request a new one, it just happened. Kudos to Danny and Aisling.

Still on the got empty envelope list here. I sent an e-mail last week to the editors asking that they send one in the padded envelope. I leave on Sunday! Crossing my fingers!

Got my pin in the padded envelope and the nice note...arrived while I was in the French countryside, sipping Alsatian wine!
Thanks, Fodors - will wear it next trip!

Vicki Jul 2nd, 2001 09:54 AM

A huge thank you to fodors! I got my pin (in a padded envelope) and now I feel so special. :)

Belated thanks to Danny, Aisling et al. First-rate team to take advantage of the initial, troublesome mailing and demonstrate their professionalism. Just returned from holiday to find "the pin" ... very nicely done indeed.

Ed

This was another attempt to figure out how many people are hooked on this forum.
bobbie Feb 11th, 2002 10:37 AM

It's lonely on the "got nothing" list, beginning to think i'm the only one left here :(

fred Feb 11th, 2002 11:52 AM

HEY Bobbie I will sell you mine - I need to finace my 45 day drive through Europe that is coming up, so I will let it go for oh lets say 15,000 Euros plus your first born.....

Have any 'pinheads' run into each other since getting their Fodorite badges?

britchick Mar 16th, 2002 03:20 PM

no.
I don't wear mine, the point comes through past the thingy which holds it on and it scratched like hell!
Sue Mar 16th, 2002 10:31 PM

Rex, I got mine the first go-around and I have no idea if it was in an envelope, an envelope with a hole or a padded envelope, but I intend to wear it proudly (am now, as a matter of fact--on my purse) in Paris in April. Somehow I missed your tallying post (I was away)

Just musing back Jun 29th, 2002 08:22 AM

from the end of June, back in the "before time" (pre-9/11).
pam Jun 29th, 2002 08:34 AM

Yes, I came in on the "tail-end of this and Sheila from Scotland sent me a pin SHE had received before I went off to Rome.
There are still many wonderful people here.

gogoellen Jun 29th, 2002 07:34 PM

I want a pin.
How can I get a pin???

Misty Fyde Jun 29th, 2002 07:48 PM

Why do you all want to go around being walking billboards for Fodors? Why do you go through so much trouble not to look like tourists, buying unfamiliar shoes, giving up bright colors, speaking in whispers, and then wear some tacky pin that advertises an American travel guide book series?
