Geee... it's nice to be loved:) I'll just go take my estrogen replacement and get out of your hair. I'd tell you why I said that, but I need to go take that pill:)

Topping... perhaps again tomorrow (Saturday) night and/or Sunday.

Didn't take long to update the numbers from last night.

Have received a pin - - 82
Received an empty envelope - - 25
Have not received anything - - 22
Please add my name to the "received an empty envelope" list. Does anyone know if Fodor's will be re-issuing pins (in better packaging, I hope)?
|
Still pining for a pin! We ordered ours the first day, too! :)
|
There are a group of us "non-early adopters of new concepts" that are hoping another window of opportunity opens so that we can get our pins. Any chance on that happening or have I missed more than one window of opportunity?

Received my pin on monday. It had poked
a hole in the envelope, but post office
had taped over it - so arrrived just fine.
|
Me and my husband Alexandre received last week our pins, and the envelope was ok (no holes).

Debora and Alexandre

Just received the famous letter with hole in a plastic wrap - No Pin!
|
Rex, No pin received, though I ordered mine on the first day.

Its just idle curiosity on my part, but what is so important about getting a Fodors pin? Also, what is the purpose of this thread? Is it to embarass Fodors? For a company that provides travelers a free forum to exchange travel information, don't some of you think its kind of in bad taste to be harping on whether you got your free pin or not? I really do not understand the purpose of this thread or the apparent importance that some of you attach to getting a Fodors pin. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Envelope with large hole - no pin.
|
Curious,

I believe it's not the pin, in and of
itself, that is so terribly important.
For me, coming across someone in a
foreign land whose name I recognize
from this forum, and with whom I've
exchanged ideas or suggestions would
be quite enjoyable. And the pin would
be a means of recognition.

Happy travels,

Gerry K

I ordered my pin on the second day and just received it last week (5/30). Also in a "holey" envelop but pin in perfect condition. It is beautiful and I thank the people at Fodors for going to all the trouble and expense of providing us with this opportunity to connect with other "Fodorites". I have been with this forum for two years (mostly doing assists for those going to Egypt and on this site to get info for an upcoming trip).

Rex, THUMBS UP!! I think this is a great idea you have to find out how many did/did not get their pins and hope others will continue to post their situations.

Regards, Alice (who is off to Europe for 7 weeks - 4 of those in France...ahhh the rewards of being a teacher who drives a clunker!!) ;-)

Got my envelope the other day. There were about 490 pins stuck to it.
|
Another day, another empty mailbox. Still sporting husband's pin and waiting for mine (ordered earlier than his) to arrive.

Keep counting, Rex.
|
Why don't we just wear our mangled envelopes on our lapels instead.
j.
|

You should first, though, have the envelope laminated so it will last longer.

In Paris, looking for all those envelopes flapping from lapels!!
|
After a re-search of three months of unopened mail, it would appear that I did in fact receive the pin inside the envelope.
|
Hi Rex, still no envelope, no pin. Main for today has already arrived.
Regards
Art
|
Hi Rex:
Received my pin in a completely intact envelope last week here in central Ontario, Canada.
Regards,
