Hi Royy, one can lose an important piece of jewelry at home as well as on vacation. Having said that though there is probably a bigger chance of losing a piece while on vacation, if you forget it in your hotel room it will probably not be turned in.
If you read my post here, I take my jewelry of at night and put it in my purse. I put the jewerly on last thing before I leave the hotel room. So if I forget it I really have no problem because it is in my purse. I never lay a piece of jewelry on a nightstand, bathroom sink counter etc.
Is the braclet a sturdy band or is it delicate? Delicate jewelry has more of a chance of breaking and falling off due to handling luggage etc.
It sounds like your wife wears this braclet all the time so she no doubt knows how to carry things without causing a problem with the braclet. And if she does the "purse bit" like I do I would think everything would be alright. If there is any kind of a clasp on the braclet you could have the jewlerer check it to make sure it is secure. Also, if by any chance the braclet was originally from Greece and it worth more then then travellers are allowed to bring back to the US duty free do this. Take the day's newspaper with the name of the paper and the date showing. Put the braclet on the newspaper and take a photo of it. Take the photo with you so if you are questioned by customs when you return home you will have proof that she left the US with the braclet. Well, of course I am assuming you are in the US. If not my apologies.
Have a beautiful time in Greece.
