Hemingway has a number of short stories & books that are a good read. (If you like his work). Pick any.

A bicycling hooker in Havana? I have found my calling!

Yeah--pick A Moveable Feast by Hemingway. That will definitely get you in the travel mood, and it's one of his best.

Moveable Feast, Hemingway. Took me only a few daily subway trips which would probably be less time than your flight. Each chapter can stand by itself in case you get interrupted.

I like to pick up a copy of Ellery Queen or HItchcock's monthly magazine of mystery stories. It's perfect for an overseas flight, with short stories so you don't have to concentrate too hard, or worry that you'll get so wrapped up in the plot that you don't go to sleep (done that). It's light, bendable, and at the end of your journey, give it away, or toss it.

I enjoyed "The Train Now Departing" by Martha Grimes.

Melanie
