Statue of Liberty

I THOUGHT there was a miniature Statue of Liberty in Paris' Luxembourg Gardens...I can't find anything about it in my guide books. Is it still there? Where?

It was still there last June - among the trees on the rue Guynemer side.

Hi,

The origional minuture of the Statue of Liberty by Bartoldi is located at the point of the Ile des Cynges (Ile of Swans) in the Seine at the pont Grenelle.

You may follow the link below to visit the bridge and statue.

http://www.smartweb.fr/_indexfr/indexseineponts.html

Bonne Visite,

RJS

Yes, the statue is still there. As Donna said, it's on the rue Guynemer side, not too far from where the ponies go up and down. Keep your eyes peeled--there are usually tourists around it making classic Lady Liberty poses and taking pictures (and not just American tourists). If you're not in Paris and want to see the statue on the Seine, rent the movie Frantic starring Harrison Ford.
