It's one thing to say the police target rental cars and another to say they deliberately make up the idea that those cars were speeding. Which are you suggesting Jim? It may be an aggravation to have your chances of being caught increased when you have a rental, but that doesn't alter the fact you deserve the ticket IF you were speeding.

I'm saying that if you have a group of cars all traveling above the speed limit, you're 7-10 times more likely to be "selected" for a ticket if you're driving a rental car.
And most drivers drive above the speed limit...at least 10-15 percent above according to DMV figures. Oregon and Colorado are especially notorious for this. The point is that traffic laws are very often selectively enforced. |
OK, I agree with all that, just wasn't sure what it had to do with this thread about someone insisting they WEREN'T speeding but got a ticket anyway via the rental car agency.
Meanwhile they also claim it's a well known fact the police will stop a speeding red car before any other color. |
I think Neo was right when he said it's probably not worth debating it any further since this is a six month old thread. Though it is funny to think of us all not realising and getting het up about it so far down the line. 8-)

I think my parents have received a ticket from Italy for me from last summer!!!!! I will be seeing it soon and will translate it with the assistance of my Italian Tutor. My mother physically had to go to the post office to sign for it!!!!!!
