Can anyone tell me how to say "flight pattern," an aeronautical term?

Revulgo Apr 13th, 2010 10:14 PM

Patrón de vuelo

Another option would be "trayectoria de vuelo".

lincasanova Apr 13th, 2010 11:45 PM

hanl.. i think "trayectoria" would be more like "flight PLAN".. ( ruta.) which I assume is a bit different than flight PATTERN. I am curious because I am not familiar with specific aeronautic lingua.. but assume revulgo's answer is correct.

P.S. You can visit www.proz.com for great professional translation glossaries open to the public.

Lincasanova, I'd say that "trayectoria de vuelo" is probably closer to "flight path" than "pattern".

However, I came across it as a translation for "flight pattern" in some of the professional translation databases I have access to at work, which is why I thought I'd mention it. I didn't come across any references to "patrón de vuelo".

(BTW, I'm a member of ProZ!)
