Spanish coffee

Does anyone know what does it mean "20% roasted sugar" in Spanish coffee?

Do you know what is the best brand of Spanish coffee? Thanks

Are you referring to Spanish coffee (i.e., beans or ground coffee) or to the drink called "Spanish coffee," which is generally composed of dark coffee, sugar and Spanish brandy, with whipped cream on top?

Hi Z,

If you have "Spanish Coffee mix", it is 20% sugar by weight. The rest of the product should be coffee.

It might have powdered milk-flavored stuff in it as well.

Ok, we went to Manhattan's restaurant and had superiour coffee. When I asked what kind was it I was told 'Spanish coffee' so I went and I looked for 'Spanish coffee' on the web.
I found site that sells all Sapnish food and they have this "20% roasted sugar" only brand that said to be 'most famous hard to find in US coffee'
I had ordered, now I am asking..."20% roasted sugar"???

We were kind of surprised that our coffee taste did not asked for sugar.
So it was in it already?
Do I have to re-evaluate my fascination with this drink?

I've got my coffee...great! It is not pre-sweetened at all but has no English writing though it says it has 20% torrefacto beans...whatever it is.

I also got olive oil mayo. I liked it!

Here, from tienda.com, is the explanation of the "torrefacto beans":

"The intensity of the coffee is determined by the proportion of torrefacto beans in the mix. This bag is a moderate 20%. Pre-ground Torrefacto coffee ... is produced by a special roasting process that results in a remarkably robust, full-bodied cup of coffee, without a hint of bitterness. A portion of the quality raw coffee beans are coated with a fine mist of sugar before they are poured in the roaster with the other quality beans."
