Sorrento beaches..are they any good?
I will be heading back to italy for the 4th summer I'm thinking of attending an Italian language school Sorrento. I'm hoping for some nice beaches. Do they exist in sorrento?

Beaches are more like swimming piers in Sorrento, or perhaps the gravelly variety we saw in other areas of the Amalfi Coast, not the typical soft, white sand beaches you see in the US or Caribbean...

Yup

well,...I live in Sorrento and I love my town, and even though I like to go swimming in summer when I have some time, I'll have to be honest: I would not come to Sorrento for the beaches, they're small, black sand (volcanic) or stones, and most of the times you have to pay to access them. I'd rather hire a boat and go explore the beauty of the coast along the peninsula!

Sorrento Lingue is the school I'll be attending in May. I've heard very good things about it. And, the beaches in that area are definitely limited. You can sunbathe if that's what you're looking for.

Sorrento is not a beach resort. It has several piers for ferries and a beach where in the smaller/fishing boats pull up onto the sand.
There are some places with direct aces to the water - but it's mostly gravel - not what we would consider a real beach in the US or caribbean. |
