I'm one of the lucky few who have had the privilege of lunching with Elvira. She described herself and her attire so we'd spot her. We passed the info on to the host at the restaurant, and let's just say, that he had no problem immediately making a positive identification upon her arrival and he whisked her promptly to our table. Elvira, have I said too much? As to the physical descriptions of the others we can only guess!! But we sure had a lot of laughs over lunch that day, till they kicked us out to set up for dinner!

Is this the thread you are looking for?

So, where is Elvira lately? I haven't seen her post anything in a long time. Is she still a Fodorite? I always enjoyed her writing.

she is around, quietly adding good tips here and there where needed, I want her to take another trip, I need something good to read!

MaryC Jan 31st, 2002 09:36 AM

I hear from good authority that she is indeed planning a trip for this Fall and have been forewarned to travel in a country practically halfway 'round the world (I suppose so that I don't get trampled in the Loon scuffle). So we may have only 6 months to wait for a Loon report? Sigh!

I, too, wish to be a loon (well, at least not an UNOFFICIAL one). ; )

HI ~MARY~My husband often says that I am "loony" so joining the Loons seems like a natural progression, don't you think?
It is raw and windy and wet here and sleet is tapping on the windows, here I sit, reading about trips to Paris, Italy, oh boy...am I getting the travel bug, bad!

elsewhere Jan 31st, 2002 10:03 AM

Is a Traveling Loons trip the same as a Fodorites trip?

Is soliciting for one any more appropriate than the other, here on this forum?
Youbiggrump Jan 31st, 2002 10:06 AM

Oh Please, Elsewhere! You obviously fail the test. Give it up and go elsewhere!

silly Jan 31st, 2002 11:30 AM

No elsewhere-you need to look up the Clueless Trip

MaryC Jan 31st, 2002 05:12 PM

Hi~Candice~I think you would make a great Loon.

So when do you get to go on your next trip, C?

It is rainy, windy, blustering here. Blah. And all I can think about is how far away April is. It will probably be rainy, windy and blustery in Paris, too, but it will be Paris. Ahhh. Lunacy abounds.

Since Rex is planning a trip for Fodorites I thought I would top this so he could use it as a template for interested parties. It will separate the wheat from the chaff! Whaddaya think?

If you're reading MatTaiTom's report, do you think he never saw this post, especially #5? ;)

Simone1 Nov 3rd, 2005 11:46 AM

I think this should be required reading for any first-timers. It should be a refresher course for everyone else.

Scarlett Nov 3rd, 2005 03:57 PM

Thank you Simone :D

Yes, required reading for everyone before they get on the plane!!
Even if they know how to travel, it is such a giggle!
And if it helps someone find a good bailbondsman, all the better!
