We liked the woodcarvings.
What type of thing do you usually bring back?
There is lots of shopping opportunities in Germany.

There is a wonderful shop in Salzburg that sells painted eggs. It's on the older side of the city (not far from the Mozart skating rink). They aren't cheap - probably starting at aroudn 5 euros, and I think the place only takes cash - but they have FABULOUS eggs painted for all occasions and seasons.

Swarovski crystal is the cheapest in Austria, if you are into that sort of thing. ((b))

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We usually bring back things unique to the region i.e. Lace from Belgium, chocolates fro Switzerland, wine from France, etc. But having never been to Germany/Austria, I wasn't sure what to look for.
