I loved that video, I thought it really was quite spooky. I hope it doesn't turn out to be a hoax, but remains a genuine unexplained incident! Don't you think it looks like the Ghost of Christmas Present from A Christmas Carol, with that fur trimmed robe?

As I was watching the story of the ghost, the globe of the downstairs ceiling light came crashing down. I hope he hasn't crossed the pond. I said in my earlier post, I want to see a FRIENDLY ghost (or maybe mischievous one like Marion and George kirby fron the Thorne Smith books about Topper.)

I saw the photographs. I always thought ghosts walked through doors, rather than closing them!

We felt VERY uneasy in the corridor where Catherine Howard's ghost is said to run, screaming. And in the ruins of the abbey near Beaulieu we distinctly heard the sound of monks chanting--very faintly at first, then louder, then faintly again. At the same time the noise of the surrounding area disappeared; it was as though a large bell jar had been dropped over us.

So who knows???

I agree with Glynis. He's very good he should be employed as a doorman.

Underhill: Monks chanting? Now THAT is VERY cool!

Underhill Jan 5th, 2004 06:48 PM

Craycraft,

Now that you mention it, the air did feel a bit cooler while the chanting went on.... And I have to add that it all felt very peaceful until the "bell jar" was lifted off and the sounds of the motorcycle race reached us again.

That's what so wonderful about traveling to Europe. Over here you virtually never see a monk on a motorcycle...
