Seen the Hampton Court ghost?

Interesting article about the recent "ghost" photograph at Hampton Court Palace! Has anyone ever been there and sensed anything strange? I definitely don't have any senses other than (hopefully) the usual five.

I just felt a little uneasy in certain parts of Hampton Court's grounds and in back of the main building. Inside the palace I only felt uncomfortable in one of the rooms with all the windows. I can usually tell when a place has a bad feeling about it, I didn't see anything, but that picture of that ghost on the security camera sure looks eerie.

I didn't see or feel anything, but i'm open. I'd like to see a real ghost as long as it's friendly.

I'd like to see this picture and read this article, do you have a web site?

My hubby says he heard about the "Ghost of Hampton Court" on the Art Bell show last night.

Ghost story on CNN:

http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/eu....ap/index.html

Of course it's a fake. No self-respecting ghost would be caught on camera :-).

This is so awesome! And the best part is-the only reason there were cameras placed where they were was b/c they couldn't figure out how the doors were getting open!

Scarlett Dec 20th, 2003 02:53 PM

I saw it last night on CNN..I would love to see a ghost!! Especially at Hampton Court!!
Perhaps one carrying his head :)

WillTravel Dec 20th, 2003 02:58 PM

Scarlett, hopefully you have seen Harry Potter II if you want to see a ghost carrying his head :).

Scarlett Dec 20th, 2003 03:00 PM

Yes :)

Scarlett Dec 20th, 2003 03:01 PM

Oops! Yes, and I want to see one for myself too!

cd Dec 20th, 2003 03:13 PM

I would love to see a ghost too!

The photos in the press here are both clearer and less clear than the one on the CN site. It's a really interesting story.

This was pretty creeepy footage on CNN. If it's a hoax, it's a fun one!

I, for one, am very happy that I've NEVER seen a ghost.

Actually, the ONLY ghost I don't want to see is one in my new house. But I will be happy to visit some drafty old castle and see one :)

RufusTFirefly Dec 22nd, 2003 10:28 AM

Let's see, face unnaturally white, strange clothes. Michael Jackson has arrived in Great Britain!

jayt43 Dec 22nd, 2003 12:07 PM

Well I don't know about seeing any ghouls and ghosties at Hampton Court Palace, but I sure felt sweaty and uneasy in the Tudor Kitchens Gift Shop. Of course, that had to do with my wife wanting to charge god knows how many bits of pewter and china to my AMEX card. And that was after paying £23 just to get in and see some tatty well-worn bits of furniture!

travelinwifey Dec 22nd, 2003 12:51 PM

That is so cool! You can watch the video on www.coasttocoastam.com Makes me want to go back so badly!

michelleNYC Dec 22nd, 2003 01:05 PM

Wow... pretty funky.

Beatchick Dec 23rd, 2003 10:00 AM

I don't know, after viewing the videotape (thanks travelinwifey!) it looks to me like just a bad taping of a human closing the doors. Much less scary than just the photo.

I've always wanted to see a ghost but have never, ever seen one. I would think I'd be a PRIME candidate to see a ghost! ;)

RufusT, ROTFLMAO!! Good one.
