Morning Lisette - How I wish to live in Paris! Unfortunately not, but I have made about 10 visits over many years.
I also have a very well stocked library of mostly books on Paris and find good references to questions people ask.
The book I took the information from for Batignolles comes from a great authority on Paris, namely Thirza Vallois. The book is 'Around & About Paris'.
She ends the chapter on the 17e like this:
"Opposite the Square, south-west of the church, at no.1 Place Carles Fillion, the restaurant Le Clos Sainte-Marie will prolong your journey into nostalgia on a warm summer evening, taking you out of Paris altogether"

That's why I was wondering about it and if you may have been there.

Hi Tod,
Ok I understand now but you know Paris more than the majority of Parisians.
Please visit http://www.lexpress.fr/voyage/video.asp?idv=14
and you will see their Paris Secret notebooks videos. They show plenty of videos of lovely secret places. It is into french and you should be able to enjoy it! I am so glad to have discovered this.
The link I am sending is a video about a lovely passage in the 17th next door to my home.

Bonjour lisette
Have you been to the gardens in La Vie Romantique Museum
16, rue Chaptal
Hôtel Scheffer-Renan
Paris, 75009 France
I understand that there is a tea room there as well. I was wondering if you thought it worthwhile.

lisette75 Apr 2nd, 2007 10:58 AM

Hi Robjame!
The tea room of the Musée de la Vie Romantique is one of my fist posts on my blog http://lisetteparis.reallifelog.com/archive/38023/
It is such a lovely place to have lunch or tea during spring or summer!

Hi Lisette, any recommendation about restaurant with garden on ile de la cité or ile st louis. I am going to Paris soon want to stay in this area.

lisette75 Apr 18th, 2007 12:11 PM

Hi! I wish I would know one on St Louis Island that I love, if anyone could recommend one, I would be grateful as fodorites sometimes know Paris much more that Parisians!
Nevertheless, I recommend to have a drink at the Kiosques Flottants on a barge - quai de Montebello, please, check these two websites to have a picture http://www.highonadventure.com/Hoa00oct/Paris/paris.htm and
I have never tried their food.
