I tried, but there is only 1 ticket left for the time I needed at 9:55 AM the morning our cruise sails. I did contact my hotel to make reservations and they could not get that time for us either, although it WAS available when I originally tried to book and goofed it up and got the Error message. The hotel has gone ahead and reserved the later time for us so guess we will try to get there for the earlier time and see if they will take us then. I will have my receipt from the email in hand. Is that a good plan?

I just asked my hotel to take care of it for me. QED.

Ok so I just tried to book this tour for July 12, 2007 and I followed all the directions on the site, as much as I could understand as most of it was in Italian, despite being for the English tour, and each time, once I entered the credit card information, I got a message that said there was some sort of error and my transaction was not accepted. The first time I used my master card and the second time I used my Visa, so I am either not booked at all, or I'm going to be charged twice, or perhaps one went through and the other didn't. Very frustrating. I guess I have to try to call and find out what's going on but I was hoping to avoid having to do that. it all seemed nice and easy until it came time to pay and confirm the reservation!

I had the exact same problem. I then asked my hotel to take care of it for me - I got confirmation the next day.

This website is completely in English
and I used it to book LaFenice tickets
without a hitch. There site for the
itineraries tours is

thanks. I'm going to give it a day or two to see if I can any kind of confirmation email or if my credit card gets charged and if nothing happens I'll either try the other site or ask my hotel for an assist.

Looks like the tour is about an hour? It appears the English guided tours are one hour apart.

So does this entitle you to the rest of the Palazzo and you don't have to buy a regular ticket if you want to see the rest?

The regular ticket is 12 euros and this is 16 euros so I hope it lets you see the rest.

What is the maximum number of people per slot that they take?

Do they allow cameras at all? Tripods (I know, probably pushing it)?

How about other sites within Venice, probably limited or no camera use?

Emailed the contact at the Venice Museums site (where you can book the SI tour) and they provided the following info:

1. Tour lasts 90-100 minutes.
2. Maximum of 25 people per tour.
3. You can tour the rest of the Palazzo Ducale on that 16 euro ticket.
4. No cameras or tripods.

I tried for several days on the website and my credit card would never go through - I always got an error message. I contacted thre webiste twice, who said that something was wrong with my credit card, and called my credit card company three times thinking they were the problem, but they weren't.

I finally got the gumption up to follow Ira's advice and call Italy. The first time they were closed and I got a message only in Italian. The next time, after a short message in Italian, it said, in English, to push number 2, if you wanted English.

Long story short, calling them is the best way to go. It was SOOOOO easy, only took two minutes total, and I got my reservation. You do not have to pay right then, so if something happens that you can't make your reservation, you are not out the money.

I really wish I had just listened to Ira in the first place instead of spending all the frustrating days. Live and learn.
