Sad news about Lori

I got a call from Lori's husband saying that she had a heart attack and died last week. She has been so helpful to many on this website for many years. I met her here 7 years ago and she helped me so much with trip planning. We became good friends. I wanted all of her website friends to know. She will be missed.

Oh Sheila, you are talking about Lori that recently commented about the Scala House in London where they have stayed before? And if memory serves me right they were returning sometime this spring. I particularly remember that thread as I have some freinds going to London for the first time and thought the Scala House might be suitable accomendations for them even though it had been sold to another owner. How terribly sad. Blessings to her husband and loved ones.

Sheila, I am so sorry to hear this. I know Lori was a long-time poster here and this is completely unexpected. My condolences to her friends and loved ones.

This is very sad. Was Lori her screen name also?

I posted earlier and it didn't show up????

A sad loss for her family, her friends and to the fodors community.

Oh, so sorry! I do remember the thread on the Scala House in London. SHe gave a lot of good information and advice, got me interested in staying there next time I go to London.

Lori has been a wonderful poster here for quite a while. She and I often seemed to be on the same wave length, particularly about theatre issues. We'll certainly miss her here.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

My condolences to her family and friends. I know her posts, but not her. I believe she was anticipating a wonderful trip to London in April. How sad in so many ways.

Sher Mar 4th, 2007 07:21 PM

Lori was her screen name.

What a shock - so sad. She was posting just a week ago. She had asked me to report back about the current situation at Scala House when I stayed there in Feb.

I will miss her.

Sorry to hear this sad news. I send my sympathy to her family and friends.

Sheila1954 Mar 5th, 2007 07:39 AM

She did post about Scala House and had stayed there a few times. She was planning a trip back in April. Although I never met her in person, I considered her a friend and I knew several of you would also. We emailed each other frequently about trip planning. I still can't believe it. She lived in Tucson with her husband, John. Her screen name was Lori.

A loss to the board-I remember her sage advice going back some time now and used it for a trip to London. She knew her bookstores!

sistahlou Mar 5th, 2007 09:40 AM

Welcome back Sheila, whoever you are. How bittersweet to return with a new name to bear such sad tidings. Not easy I'm sure. Hope you'll stick around with your new screen name.

Very sad indeed
