Rouen in October

We will be driving to Rouen in October as we make our way back to Paris. Any suggestions for a nice hotel and place to eat?

Ellie, I visited Rouen in Oct. 1999. I don't recall where we ate, but there are numerous cafes, restaurants and patisseries. There's even a McDonald's there (we did NOT eat there). We didn't stay overnight, so I can't help you in that area. I hope you enjoy Rouen as much as I did - I found it to be a fascinating old town. We had originally planned to stay only a couple of hours, but ended up being there most of a day. Have a great trip!

It's nice to know that there's a MacDonald's in Rouen, but here are a couple of places you might actually want to eat:

La Toque d'Or, 11,place du Vieux Marché

Aux Temps des Cerises, 4-6, rue des Basnages

Le P'tit Bec, 182, rue Eau-de-Robec

It's been about five or six years, but we spent two nights in a delightful small three star in Rouen right by the Cathedral called, oddly enough -- Hotel Cathedral.

Ellie== Rouen is known for it's DUCK--with pomme frites-Make sure you order it-I can't remember the restaurant we went to but it was a local place and fabulous!
