In a city where the median is at least twice that, there are still choices for 100 euro a night (double with private bath); the website www.venere.com lists dozens (checking arbitrarily for March 28).

Most are in the Termini area or nearby Esquilino; in general, none are well-known names, but there are a few that are listed as three-stars, such as

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/piemonte/

or

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/stmoritz/

and at least one or two two-stars that have been mentioned here or are in "better" locations, such as

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/sangelo/
(three-stars, near Castelo S. Angelo)

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/piave/

or

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/golden/
(both listed as Via Veneto, but still near Termini)

or

http://www.venere.com/it/roma/scotthouse
(Termini area, but mentioned here by Walter and others as fair, good or lacking integrity - - you decide!)

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
Hotel Corot had room fares for 105 euros per room per night. See their site and (better) contact them through email to have special fares
www.hotelcorot.it
It is near the station, clean, small, plentiful buffet breakfast
