MK2
Prada address Kurfuerstendamm 189. If you have questions concerning addresses or websites etc, I would suggest using google.com. I found Prada's address in less than 30 seconds. Google is the best search engine on the net. |
yes-hsv-it is Friedrichstrasse where all the elegant shops are to be found now-MK2 will love Berlin I'm sure, maybe as much as I do!
|
Many thanks, and I will do, just feeling overwhelmed about the whole Jil Sander thing. Are shops open on Sunday, or like London the smarter ones aren't?
|
FYI: I am booked into the Adlon (which is also a Kempinski) for 3 nights later this month. When attempting to book online, was told no rooms only suites. Actually called the hotel with some questions about the suites when found out they had both superior and deluxe rooms available for my dates. In other words, did you call the hotel directly?
|
I will contact them directly, thank you for informing me - is that also near the Prada/Jil Sander strip?
|
Once more:
The Adlon is in Mitte on Unter den Linden blvd. right by Brandenburg Gate. Kurfuerstendamm (the Sander/Prada strip, as you refer to it), is in West Berlin and not exactly walking distance from the Adlon, but rather a short hop by taxi or train. The Adlon, however, would be walking distance to other designer shops which are located around Unter den Linden and Friedrichstr., which, vice versa, would be a short hop by taxi or train from West Berlin and the Bristol. Shops won't be open on Sundays. Opening hours during the week maximum 08.00 p.m. |
More about the Ritz shutting down:
http://www.economist.com/cities/brie...fm?city_id=BER You have to scroll quite far down the page. The place is harboring the bacteria that causes Legionnaire's disease. I am a little agape at how the Ritz treated the situation, by telling all the booked guests that the hotel was full and sending them elsewhere. |
One alternative is out of the match, though: The Four Seasons is closing, too, although not for sanitary but for financial reasons. In the future it will be operated by Regent Hotels which nowadays is a brand owned by Rezidor SAS (the luxury division of Radisson).
If you enter "Berlin" in the search box, I have posted on this theme already yesterday. |
