Relations among whom?

These are groups of extremely young, hotheaded males who get their kicks out of torching cars and other things and then hearing about it on TV. I don't think their bright enough to have any kind of political agenda, despite all the claims to the contrary. They care only about making trouble. They are the losers of society, and they'd be losers no matter what their ethnicity. The same grade of punks can be found in any large city, and they'll always seize any excuse to cause trouble.

It's not a movement that is backed or condoned by anyone else in France, irrespective of his or her ethnicity or socioeconomic status. And it has only gone as far as it has because of media hype. Teeny-bopper punks see other punks burning cars on the TV, and they want to play, too.

According to news reports, there have already been 100 vehicles torched as of 11:00 pm this evening. I'm not sure if this is just in suburban Paris or throughout France. Either way, it's not a good start to the evening. I really feel for the law enforcement people and their fellow fire fighters.

FYI - Just spent the last few days in Paris on business...stayed at the Hilton CDG and took the RER B to and from central Paris and saw no trouble and had no disruptions.
