Rialto Hotel

Anyone know the Rialto in Venice? Though more then we'd lanned on spending, offers a balcony over the Grand Canal with views of the bridge. Before I send in my deposit, thought I'd pick a few brains!

Steve

I'm staying at this hotel next year because of some recommendations I read hear on Travel Talk. Make sure they confirm a balcony if that's what you want. They only have three.

STEVE, Life is a compromise. Good hotel in great location. But, very crowded in the area and can be noisy.

I stayed across the Grand Canal from the Rialto, at the Locanda Sturion. I had one of their two rooms on the Grand Canal (two large windows) for $175 per night, which I thought was a great deal. You might want to try them if the Rialto doesn't pan out for whatever reason. The Rialto quoted me higher rates than Sturion and my room there was delightful, as was the entire staff. Its only drawback is the 69 marble steps you have to climb to the hotel - but that was my excuse for a daily gelato!

just back from Italy, and we stayed at the Rialto Hotel in Venice...good location, the best/biggest bathroom we had in all of Italy (double sink)..we didn't get the view of the Grand Canal, but you have breakfast on the canal...
have fun!!

Ask the the end room facing the canal,
even though the vaparetto stop is
right in front it is a good room
with 2 large windows in front and
2 more on the side street.
(Noise isn't bad, but I always
wear light earplugs anyway, when
I sleep in Europe)

We stayed at the Rialto 5 years ago. Pretty glass chandelier made in Venice and nice all tile bathroom with hairdryer. $30.00 extra per night for a view {which we didn't take, wish we had!] Weak link was the prepackaged rolls at breakfast in the crowded interior breakfast room.
