Sorry about sounding negative but I had checked a year ago or so with L'Abbaye's standard room size. It's pretty much the same size as the Verneuil's standard double: approx. 12 sq. m. To me 199 euro is pretty expensive for that size even with breakfast included.

You might check out the Victoria Palace (www.victoriapalace.com), which we really liked last month.

It's in the 6th, but close to the 14th (and all the restaurants on Montparnasse Blvd.)

Hotel Duc de Saint Simon is in a lovely spot. The "cheapest" room is at the upper end of your price range.

The Duc de Saint Simon's double rooms are approximately the same size as those of the Abbaye's.
