Quick question re meals on Air France flights
Flying LAX-CDG on May 1; returning CDG-LAS May 22. I can't tell from the AF website whether or not we'll be served a meal/meals. Would you happen to know? Thank you.
Short answer: yes, the serve meals.
Here is the information from their website: http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common..._airfrance.htm You can find this by going to the website and then clicking "onboard." |
someone else just asked this question, AF always serve you a meal if you are going over the Atlantic Ocean. For some strange reason, they don't mention it in their itinerary -- I just booked a flight Monday and it only said "breakfast" going over and I know it includes dinner. I don't know of any airline that doesn't serve a meal for a flight that long, but I suppose there's always a chance.
And, maybe I was lucky on the flights I took on AF, but they were some of the better airline meals I've ever had (economy class).
I don't think they fly to LAS, so you will be transferred to a different airline somewhere.
Or, it was a TYPO, and the OP is returning to LAX.
We've flown several times to and from LAX with them. They will serve dinner and a light breakfast. They have provided free cocktails and wine. I like that they leave snacks and beverages in out in the galley during the night. Sometimes they even had Dove ice cream bars. You will not go hungry with AF.
Yes, on Air France long haul flights the galley remains open for self serve drinks and snacks all through the night (or day).
Thanks to all!

Yay! Just booked my first flight with AIR FRANCE to Italy. This is good to know.
To Italy from where? You won't get much on the France-Italy sector, so it all depends if you are flying Air France to Paris from wherever you are. (And even so, it might be a flight operated by Delta.)
kerouac: Actually, Los Angeles to Venice. The stop to change planes is in Paris (CDG).
On the RETURN flight, it's through DELTA (so I'm guessing not to expect food on DELTA). |
You mean edible food on Delta.
kerouac: Oh! I automatically assumed that you meant that I shouldn't expect to get any FREE food on Delta's international flight. Am I mistaken about that? (Yes, edible is another story...)
As far as I know, meals are still served as part of the fare on international flights. Are you sure that it is a Delta plane and not just a Delta flight number?
Assuming you're flying in coach yes, there will be some sort of meal. If you want to eat it or not is another question. If I'm stuck in coach I eat before or after (short flights) and bring my own food (longer flights) since I cannot consumer what the airlines serve. (IMHO bringing a salad or sandwich from a decent take-out in the airport (Au Bon Pain or similar) is way better than the airline food.
nytraveler: I totally hear you on that one! Especially if I can take some nice "tremazzini" on board from an Italian cafe.
kerouac: Yes, I believe it is a Delta flight. I found a deal on ORBITZ and it was a partner thing with Air France going one way and Delta the other way. |
One thing to know: if you ever have a 4 digit flight number for an international flight, it is operated by another airline.
