Question for Ira or Bobthe navigator

I registered for the Italy train site (http://www.trenitalia.com/), never received my password. So I did the forgot password and had it emailed to me. When I got the password it was all letters. When I try and enter it on the site it says it has to be letters and numbers, I tried emailing the help email address but no luck, any ideas?

Intrepid1, what does ttt mean?

ttt = to the top. Bringing your post back up again.

Hi are,

I have two passwords, for resons not important at this time, and both of them are all letters.

I saved the email and converted it to a Word doc. The type was about a size 7. When I used it as was in the copy/paste mode it was rejected.

I changed to font to size 11. It now works, mostly.

I suggest that you try, try again.

Good Luck

Sorry, I seldom use the trains and have never bought a ticket online.

It's such a simple notion, but it bears saying, as the forum really does depend on message header info being useful to readers and respondents alike. The preferred (by me at the very least, and surely almost everyone else as well) way to title this question would be something like - -

"Has anyone else had trouble with the password assigned by trenitalia.com for buying tickets online?"

Best wishes,

Rex

Thanks for the comments Rex, but I posted a specific question for IRA and Bob based on their posts in the Italy Information.

I would suggest you pose this question to GAC, who seems to be the resident Trenitalia expert on this forum.

I understand that this is how you see the forum - - but imagine if everyone had the same approach:

1. Question for Tom

2. Info, please... from Dick

3. Can you help me, Harry?

and so on...

When the top 50 questions all contain NO clue as to what the questioner wants to know - - acts of seemingly inconsequential, and minor selfishness - - that's when this forum will have been ruined by useless headers.

Dear rex,

There is only one Bobthenavigator and I think that I am the only Ira registered on this forum.

It's not quite the same as "Question for Tom". :)

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, ira... it's not a point of names being unique or not.

If ALL the questions were to read:

1. Question for ira

2. Question for rex

3. Question for elaine

4. Question for Patrick

5. Question for cmt

6. Question for cigalechanta

7. Question for Robespierre

8. Another question for ira

and so on...

This is the chaos that potentially ensues.

So, if it would be wrong for everybody to put such message headers on their postings, then - - by slippery slope analogy - - it is wrong for one person to do so also. No different than "cutting in line" - - you can say "well, as long as just one person does it now and then, society doesn't fall apart" - - but if it's okay for one, then it's okay for two, then it's okay for ten...

Oh, Rex, I am upset that you left "Question for ilovelabs 2003" off of your list:)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

GAC is indeed the resident expert on trains and train travel throughout Europe. He/She would be the best one to pose this question to.
