FYI - I just committed, via deposit, to an apartment in Ostuni that gets terrific reviews and is a fabulous price. Now to figure out the transport! I shall try to keep you informed.

So, after much digging I found this very lovely pdf on the Comune di Ostuni website. It shows arriving and departing trains and the corresponding buses to take to and from the station!! http://www.urpcomunediostuni.it/main...uniFeriale.pdf

Bsmith, could you possibly share the apartment link? Trying to decide between La Sommita hotel in Ostuni or a house in the countryside for a trip next May. Apartment in town might be the solution. Thanks!

macdogmom, so sorry I've been so slow! I wasn't getting notified of people posting here. We are staying at Casa Josephina in Ostuni. The owners are American but use a British rental link. Simply type Casa Josephina in your browser. It will come up on Trip Adviser and a couple of other sites. The owners have a very through rental agreement and all review thus far have been super. We are all paid and ready to leave in 30 days!!

FYI all - I have started a trip report under the title "Two weeks in Italy - Venice, Ostuni and Naples" Which won't be interesting for at least another month.... :)

And a big shout out to bilboburgler and neckervd for sharing links!!
