Lilla, which hotel did you chose with the package? I have done VV packages to London and have recently looked at the Paris ones. Suzbutler you might want to check these out unless you have already purchased your airfare (try go-today.com and the Virgin Vacations website) and if the hotel locations work for you there are some really good rates after Oct. 31.

Margie, I chose the Regence Hotel, but they were already completely booked so ended up at Cervantes Hotel. We thought the location was pretty good, close to the train station and to the metro.

Thanks for the response. When you book these packages and your first choice hotel is full, do you get to pick (from the list) which hotel you would like as a second choice, or are you 'put' somewhere?

I just got back from Paris and I stayed at the Muguet. It is a very nice hotel and close to the Metro. I like the 7th. Having said that, the price of my room was 97 euro a night. It was small, I had a shower not a bath tub and I booked a double. Having stayed at the Hotel de Champs du Mars, I would say the rooms are exactly comparable and the Champs is considerably less. In fact with the exchange rate to awful, I really wish I had stayed at the Champs du Mars this time.

Margie, the first hotel I requested was booked, and they gave me an alternative that I didn't like, so I rejected that choice. Then I went to the next hotel on the website, which was also booked. They then gave me the Cervantes, which I accepted. There wasn't any list of hotels; they just gave me an alternate, and I had to accept or reject it.
