I'm reopening this post with hopes that someone can help me decide between the City Safe 200 and the 100 shoulder purse by Pac Safe. I have the 200, but it looks so big...would I be happier with the 100? If I carry too much stuff, it tends to hurt my shoulder, so maybe the 100 would be the better choice, as I wouldn't be able to overload it. Please advise.

I picked up a great messenger bag at Eddie Bauer that I use when I'm traveling as my only purse. They come in a variety of clors, have a number of compartments and pockets, and will hold travel guides and almost anything else you need. They are nylon and very light weight.

Welig, I have pretty much the same question. I'm going to be in Rome and am concerned about safety. Will use money belt for the important stuff. But I'm about to get a new digital camera and not sure what to carry it in. The 100 seems a little small to me, but the 200 seems kind of large. I may end up getting the 100 and supplement it with those pop up tote bags as needed.

It seems like I shouldn't be sweating over this, but it is a concern. I do like the security aspect of these bags as well.

I am now thinking of keeping the 200 and supplementing with a smaller bag.

What kind of security belt did you go with? I found one made by Eagle Creek..nice and lite, but I am concerned that the clip won't last. I also purchased an ID and Boarding Pass Holder which I am going to return, it already ripped. The workmanship of some of these products is amazing.

I have both the Citysafe 100 and 200. The larger one is not heavy, and if you want to carry a guide book, camera, water, or pick up souvenirs, you probably would be happier with it. The 100 is quite a bit smaller and if you're a water and camera carrier, it's not very effective, but fine if you don't need to carry a lot. Also, I have a compact digital camera with zoom lense and it't not really deep enough. However, I do like the small factor in that it just kind of sits on your hip and looks more understated I think.

I ordered both the Pacsafe 100 and 200 but will have to return both. One is too big, the other way too small. Also, the taupe color is not deep and rich as shown on the computer screen, but more of a washed-out stony beige.

Instead, I got a Kipling shoulder bag (their "Vintage" collection, style "Newguard," color "fox")-- light weight, good size, and lots of zippered conpartments. A little more casual than I wanted, but couldn't find anything else suitable.

I just bought the Overland Equipment Donner bag at REI for our upcoming trip. I actually like the looks of it.

I used a nice leather bag on other trips, but it sat in a puddle of water at a ballgame, so is ruined. I have been looking for a replacement of that, but so far no luck.

Does anyone have any experience with the Sling Safe 200..a different look..11X11.75X1. It's not very deep, but just for carrying a few things, when not using the City Safe 200.

I fly to Rome and Paris every month and I use nothing but a Longchamps purse. I take the longer strap midsize and its great for holding everything from a book to your jacket and umbrella. Most of my flying friends do the same-besides it is quite light weight!

How large is your Longchamps that it can hold a jacket? If it's lightweight, I assume it's not leather. Is it one of the pliages -- the folding type?

I own several but its the Longchamps that is the middle size with the long handles. The bigger one with the small handles is my "European grocery shopping bag"!All of my Longchamps fold up-thats why I love them as you can take several in different colors on vacation without taking up space.

In addition to the Citysafe bags, I'm also looking at the Metrosafe 100 & 200. But again, the 200 looks a little large. I can't seem to find one in the stores to actually look at without having to order.

I have a basic money belt for passport, money, etc. Since I'll be in the city, I'd just like to feel secure without worrying over it either. This is all new for me, I've never worn a money belt before.

Has anyone used those boarding, ticket, DL holders? I've seen them in the stores and wondered if they'd be useful.

What type of Longchamp purse are we talking about..can you please tell me which one from the website..is it the taupe crossover one?

The Metro Safe bags kind of remind me of a camera bag. There is another bag that looks interesting, I think it may be made by Day Makers...it's a Vertical Security Bag that comes in leather or microfiber...you can find it on the Magellan website #LB116...www.magellan.com.

Skydog-I have never been on the website so don't know which Longchamp you are talking about. I buy all my Longchamps in Paris at various places but they are microfiber with leather straps and range in price from about 65 to 72 euros.Seriously, I think that they are the greatest lightweight purse around!

I think the LongChamp bags are good looking bags..with a long strap which could be worn across the body.

I am actually looking for the security type bags that have the wire reinforced strap, such as the Citysafe, Metrosafe, etc. They are definitely not as attractive as the LongChamp, but may offer the security factor that I'm thinking I need.

While in Paris, I'm going to check out the LongChamps for a nice dressy bag. Thanks

Yes, they are useful. I've made a lot of international trips without one and it's been a pain taking my passport out, putting it back, knowing exactly where it is etc. so I bought a bright red one so I could see it immediately in my purse and only used it around my neck when going from passport control through customs.

Last trip I didn't bother with it and dropped my passport at JFK. I'd shown it at immigration and put it into an inside pocket in my jacket. I don't know how it fell out, maybe when I leaned to get my luggage off the carousel? Or when I pulled the customs form out of the inside pocket? I was very lucky that someone turned it in to officials near the exit. I stopped by the door to wait for a friend to catch up and one of the officials called my name. I asked how they knew me and she held up the passport I didn't know I'd lost. Yikes! I was spending the night in NYC and wouldn't have missed it until checking in the next day.

Needless to say, it's going with me next trip and I'm wearing it even though I feel like a kid with a note pinned on my jacket.
