Hi
Once again thank you all for all ur guidance. One more query is it advisable to take stroller for my son? If so, then can I take in on train? Also are Italian public transports stroller friendly? |
That is a really difficult question, and you should put up a new post asking: "Should I bring a stroller to Venice and Roma?"
It's hard to know without knowing how big your son is, or whether your are comfortable using a backpack-type carrier for him. But I can tell you this: Buses in Rome are crowded and narrow with very little room to accommodate a stroller. Plus, they are very slow and don't arrive on time. So everybody walks as much as possible, but the street surfaces are very uneven. Lots of old stones. Not like Switzerland! No new streets. Many streets have no sidewalks. In Venice, there are hundreds and hundreds of small bridges. You will need to carry the stroller over the bridges. The only "public transportation" is the big boats on the grand canal. They are like buses. You cannot roll a stroller on and of them. But there are people who post on this board who have taken children your son's age to Rome and Venice. I am sure they will be happy to advise. Remember it is a big holiday right now in the US, so some people will not be looking at the internet for several days. |
