Degas, dahling, I love the way you deftly skewer certain suppositions!!

I look forward to more posts from you.

You got me! After I read the first few sentences, I turned to my husband and exclaimed "We should have booked with Air France instead of AA - not only do they offer free booze, but they're also upgrading Americans to Business Class". Then I had to tell my distraught husband, "Never mind."

Robdaddy Jul 20th, 2003 05:50 PM

Poor, poor Degas! You obviously went tourist class. We upgraded, and in addition to the services and extra consideration you received, we were always preceded down the rue by a cadre of blue uniformed men who diligently scooped up all the merde de chien left by all those unsufferably snotty French dogs.
Please, don't talk about a "perfect" trip until you've had one! :)

P.S. Thanks for a funny post that brought me a much needed laugh today.

RE: Robdaddy

Those skinny french hounds can really lay down some huge "Le turdards" on the sidewalks. My honeybunch had a $5.99 pair of KMART sneakers ruined the first day in Paris.

Ok, Degas, that's twice now that I've laughed so hard that I've spewed my beverage. My colleagues are going to think I'm insane...

RE: MichelleNYC

I often evoked that very same effect when I was single and asked a woman for a date. My drycleaning bill used to be aweful high until I got hitched up with the little wife.

I got a feeling my trip to Paris this summer will not be as good as this one.

And good lord, what was I thinking with the one long paragraph? Too much of the family recipe I suspect.

cigalechanta Apr 19th, 2006 10:32 AM

I have a feeling, dear Degas, it will be just as good.
I hope they reinstate thin, the gorgeous, I'd love to read his trip report to Israel this summer.

SuzieC Apr 19th, 2006 10:46 AM

Oh can't wait for Degas next point of view about my favorite little burg...

But if whatzisname can re-up a few times a day, why can't the Thin and the Gorgeous?

He always made me laugh and sometimes even "gasp" think

lucygirl Apr 19th, 2006 10:54 AM

Degas: paragraphs please. ;)
