Like seeing swing coats back in style.
Yes please kerouac, continue to post these. I love looking at them and just thinking "wish I were there". And they ARE helpful to anyone who, like me, may be a bit fashion-challenged...
Thanks for posting this, Kerouac. We are always afraid of underdressing in Paris and so, tend to over dress. This is actually helpful and I agree that the yellow pants defy words!
Cafe goddess, we leave in a month and are also dreading the depression we think will be headed our way upon our return (and then the bills will come)! |
For anyone "intimidated" or "awed" or "fashion-challenged" by the idea of Paris street fashion --these photos should make you NOT any of these.
Thanks. Really enjoyed.
Thanks, Kerouac, for the "slice of life" photos!
Kerouac, thanks! But so much for the Paris chic. Jeans, jeans and more jeans. Are you sure this isn't downtown Chi-town?
Thanks kerouac, I am sure I will blend in this January in Paris. I have a black car coat, dark skinny jeans, nice leather black boots, leather black bag (messenger style). Also have a collection of beautiful pashminas (many bought in Florence) - just perfect!
I wear a lot of scarves, but I now want scarf-tying lessons. Thanks for posting!
denisea,
I am jealous, are you spending christmas in Paris? Please have some hot chocolate for me. I have been avoiding Angelina all these years (I was afraid of the calories), I broke down last Wednesday and walked to Angelina from St. Germaine and tasted heaven in a cup. I can't believe i waited all these years to have hot chocolate in Paris. Don't have hot chocolate at Fauchon, their hot chocolate was gross! Have a wonderful time! |
LOVED IT!! Thanks for taking the time to do this. Now I can show my daughter what they wear and that she doesn't need a new wardrobe for our trip in December.
Moongirl, I agree. I would also love scarf tying lessons. I'm so excited!!!!! |

there are vids if you google how to tie a scarf and if You have an Hermes near you. they have booklets |
I recently came across this website in a newspaper her in Australia:
www.youtube.com/thelibertyoflondon . . . now that I've learned from this lovely french lady, I feel my scarves look a lot more chic! Unfortunately this lesson appeared after my recent trip to Paris, but there's always next time to practice for. Di |
They are saying that it might snow by the end of the week. If so, I might do a short sequel to show how Parisians look when they are really covered up.
Give me one snow day while I am there, think it would be beautiful...just one day..lol
Wow... They are dressed like, well, people. I thought that all Parisians dressed like models?
Snow is definitely on the way...!
Love it! Thanks kerouac. So interesting...
Thanks, I hope you continue with these threads.
Love it, Kerouac! It's always fun to follow your threads.
Very much like NYC - I was going to say except for uggs until one did turn up. Still, every 2nd female under the age of 25 in NYC wears them, which is about the only noticeable style difference I see between the 2 cities. Paule |
