i read a terrible review regarding the hotel saint germain des pres. i know there are other hotels of this name the one i am interested in is on Rue bonaparte has anyone stayed there latel and had good results. i stayed in 2004 and loved it but would like update.

1. where did you see the terrible review..?
2. have you checked on TripAdvisor.com ?
3. how about Venere.com (if the hotel is on that site, they do have comments)

I stayed for 3 nights in October 2004 in one of the rooms on the top florr (I should say the top floor reached by elevator-not the topmost reached by a flight of stairs). The room was pretty large with double dormer windows, bed comfortable and really nice bathroom. The room, however was very dark. It was nice for a short stay but would have gone mad if staying any longer than a weekend. The staff was friendly. My husband believes that the croissants he had there for breakfast are the best he's ever tasted!
