6 violinists, one cellist, and sometimes a piano and they sounded like a full symphony orchestra - I'm not one to spend $35 for one CD but it was so magnificent I bought the CD and have played it every day since.

Lots of the time you see the posters for the church concerts pasted all over the streets, not to worry, and I just went and paid at the door. I also went to one at La Madeleine (my namesake) but I guess it wasn't memorable, so I dont remember a thing of the music.

I would love to get tickets to the opera there !

Woody and wife, yes company to Giverny would be wonderful. Monet is one of my very very favorites, and the gardens should be magnificent. I love the Luxembourg Gardens too. What a wonderful place and all the statues of the ancient queens. phenomenal.

FNAC is a chain of electronics, DVD, CD, etc. stores. They also have a ticket kiosk for virtually anything that's on in Paris and for large venues outside Paris.

There's one where I mentioned and another in the underground mall at Les Halles--I think maybe on the Champs Elysees as well.

Their web site is in French but not that challenging. Concerts are listed under Spectacles--www.fnac.com Also a complete listing of stores. I've never ordered online; have just walked in.

If we ask, they might do tattos (Warner). Gadgetman wouldn't mind if I got one of a ham radio mike but let's try for something more "Parisienne".

We've been to the FNAC on the Champs Elysees for tickets. As I recall, they were for the Turner-Whistler-Monet exhibition.

Buying tickets at the ticket counter is like going to TicketMaster in the states.

Hi--sorry for not answering sooner--we are down in St Pe delbosc near St. Gaudens at the moment. Fantastic. I've rented a flat on the Rue St Andre des arts--close to the Blvd St. Michel end. DH will be back in UK spending time with the kids and a good girlfriend and I are sharing the flat. Guenmai stayed in the same one and gave it a good report. See you at the GTG!!
