Hello Schnauzer, I would like to add my two cents worth. I'm not sure exactly what size apartment you need but I can say that I have seen every apartment on Paris perfect website and they are all as presented. WE have rented for them several times and have loved their apartments. I have personally seen the www.sant.com that Patrick a devoted poster has stayed in and it is really nice, but I come to Paris quite often

Hello shnauzer,
We rented the Parisperfect apartment in the rue Cler area, last week. It was perfect :) I know it is confusing and sort of scary, not wanting to make a mistake, but we found renting to be a fun way to be in Paris and to enjoy pretending we lived there. I would stick with vrbo, or parisperfect or vacationparis.com.. you are bound to find something that you like with all of those choices! Good luck, have fun! |
Schnauzer, sorry but we had a computer melt here down before I could edit and continue------as I was saying, the sant apartment is nice, but I don't think as elegant and don't have the views of most of the Paris Perfect apartments but a great value and if you have to be in the 6th a great location. I come to Paris quite often and as I was going to say, the 6th is not my cup of tea so to speak----too much going on all the time for me, but you might like it. We have also rented the larger apartment at www.lacigaleparis.com and it was extremely comfortable and the owners Randall and Diana Smith(we have not returned only because our travel dates didn't coincide with their availability) are really easy to work with also as are the ParisPerfect owners. There is also another person we have used that has not been mentioned on this thread and we found him through www.vrbo.com and the apartment we rented about three years ago was #8667. It was fun and very romantic looking at the Eiffel Tower from the bed. We have friends that rented from vrbo owners who owned the apartment that is at www.chezmichelaparis.com and also that is listed at www.wewillalwayshaveparis.com and they loved that apartment. So I guess what you really have to do is decide the size apartment that you need and where you want to be and finally what fits you budget. There is something out there for everyone. There are a few others that we have rented also but for the money they were not worth it so I won't even mention them. Hope you are able to find something that suits your needs. Whatever it is I know you will have a wonderful time.

Hi Laidback, if I remember correctly you'll be off to Paris soon? If so, have a terrific time. Thanks for relaying your friends' review of chezmichelaparis.com. In my mind I imagine that apartment to be a cross between the elegance (as you stated) of Paris Perfect w/the location of sant.com. If only Paris Perfect would branch out to the 6th...oh well, you can’t have everything.

MVOR,
I am impressed with your memory...yes, we will be in Paris for Easter and a few weeks after. Thanks for your well wishes. Again we will be staying in the 2nd of Paris Perfects approximately 12 apts. The 1st two, Bordeaux and Champagne, are no longer listed on the website as they seem to stay rented without the additional publicity. Through the years we have stayed in the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 13th arrondissements and have loved them all, but we have gravitated to the 7th for the last few years...it has the open green spaces and wide, tree-lined boulevards that appeal to us and above all, the wealth of good rapport qualité/prix restaurants. There are about as many Michelin "Bib Gourmand" listings in the 7th as the 1st six arrondissements combined. With Paris' excellent metro/bus system you can get anywhere in a short time, so don't get too hung up on a location. We walk to the 6th from our apt. at least weekly. |
Aloha:We live in Hawaii and are planning our second trip to Paris in June. We are using Parisperfect.com this time around. We are also staying in the same area as last time. I can't think of anything better to do at the end of the night after a wonderful meal, than to walk to the Eiffel Tower and then back for a peaceful nights rest.We just love the area.Easy to get around, quiet, everything is convient.I am so excited to return. The owners of the apt.(Chardonnay) we are staying in, are extremely helpful.

I used chezvous.com a few years ago and was delighted with the quality and location, and with how accurately both were represented on the website. I was nervous as I entered the building, which was a bit ancient in the common areas, but once I entered the apt. felt as if I had a little slice of heaven, and a far better accomodation than a hotel.

Dear All, everyone has been sooo helpful. We have fnally made the big decision and have gone for the apartment Pinot at the Paris Perfect site. It is only myself and my husband, big 20th wedding anniversary thing. I just think this site is the best thing since sliced bread - as we say in Oz - probably everywhere says that too!! We also have a week in Rome - Paris was stage one so I may post another request for Rome accommodation after Easter. Have a great Easter everyone and thanks again to all who replied, some great tips as well thrown, I am very excited, have been to Paris a couple of times before but with little one in tow and only for a few days - this time we can hopefully take our time and really wander around and see all the things you miss when you are racing around doing the first visit to Paris thing. Remember whilst Paris is great Sydney is just as good!! Thought I do a bit of a tourist plug there. Thanks again will post about Rome soon. Schnauzer - I am not really a dog, just all my first choices were taken and I have two schnauzers so seemed a good idea at the time!
