easy for you to say, easytraveler.
Imagine what kind of "time" I am going to have when he'll find out :))))))) "When on the third day of their Europe trip when he asked her for a fresh pair of ... something and she responded : "you wanna change so soon, honey?" - he got suspisious, but kept quiet" "On the sixth day of their Eurpoean trip peeling his briefs off his sweaty tush he asked more firmly:"can I have some fresh underwear, darlinG?" When she gave him that sixth Mona Lisa smile - he decided he hates art and grabbed her by the hair..."\to be continue (good subject for the new thread) |
I realize that I'm new here and I hope it's not just me, but, this is getting weirder and a little disgusting.

What a ludicrous post, shall we just start giving out our bank a/c, and credit card numbers, along with other personal information? This post is verging on obsessive, utterly vile.

M_K you've been missed:)))))

"I feel that one more...question from me and I will be banned from this forum"
If only this could be true. Instead of spending so much useless energy here, you could consider an English course at your local community college. That way you could learn how to write and learn how to spell. Even with that, I still smell a troll. Maybe you should consider packing yourself in one of your bags. |
...fetched my second post, copy/pasted sentence ... stalker/lover ?
Hwo are you weseli ? He loves me. |
Wow. These posts make the workday go by faster...
I highly recommend TP. In my experience, when you pay at a public restroom, you get exactly one square of TP. I have bought mini-rolls of Charmin in the travel-size section of my local Wal-mart for my recent trip. |
It is possible, I suppose, that Ziana tipples a little while web surfing. That would explain a lot.
|
Now really- I have been following this with amazement, but I really have to throw this in:
Do NOT bring Toilet Paper!!!!! It would be a pure waste of space in your luggage. Be assured, there is everything available (wide choice of up to 4 to 5 comfortable layer types) here in drugstores. Even Charmin! It will fit even the most sensible a**es! :-) |
OK, I am half-packed by now.
I took day off yesterday to pack. I was so mad and sad and now I am confused, as weather gets colder and colder and I saw Hamburg on channel10 news yesterday and they still wearing winter coats(my friend also told me so). I almost left TP out, but now I think I am taking it, at least 1 roll(double), will not share though... Yeah, and why people saying that I have to think about hair appliances going into smoke. If I spent money for adapter, why would it? So my cell phone will go into smoke also ? |
Don't forget your umbrella.
I just looked at the 7-day weather forecasts for European cities that I'll be at next week and saw a lot of rainy days everywhere. |
In addition to passport copies, I take extra passport photos, though I suppose in this modern world it is easier now than it used to be to find a place that will take US-style/size passport photos. We had to replace a student's passport once and it went really fast since we had all that stuff.

Ziana,
I don't know why, but I had a curling iron melt even with the voltage and plug adapater. I had been forwarned by the people at the luggage store, but I did not believe them. They were right! I have heard of others having the same problem. I actually travel with one of those butane one's now. However, it is NOT the greatest thing I have ever used. While I still would not take TP at least you have room for a purchase where it went (A double roll? That's a lot of TP?) By the way, what did you decide on Disneyland Paris? |
I am very into doing half-a-day only because my friend's son never had seen any. So, I'll be talking her into it.
How much did you pay for your adapter when it melted things? |
Ziana,
An adaptor attaches to the plug of your appliance and allows it to fit into a foreign outlet, it doesn't affect the voltage in any way. A converter (or transformer) regulates the voltage by stepping it up or down. The battery recharger for your cell phone is most likely dual voltage so you'll only need an adaptor, not a converter. Same goes with most digital camera chargers. Check if it's dual voltage, it should say something like "110V~240V". Hair appliances also come in dual voltage versions. My hair dryer is, although I seldomly bring it when I travel anyway. If your hair appliance is single 110 voltage, then you'll need a converter, and one that's rated for the wattage of your appliance, preferably higher (it doesn't really have anything to do with how much you paid). So if you buy one of those 50 watt converters, it won't work for a 1600 watt hair dryer. The other thing that I've read is that converters step down the voltage but do nothing about the cycles. U.S. electricity is 60Hz whereas most European is 50Hz. I'm not sure if this also contributes to any possible "meltdown". For me it's just easier to stick with dual voltage appliances or leave it at home. That way, only a plug adaptor is necessary. |
I don't recall how much I paid. I have used the same adapator for lots of other things. Only curling irons have been ruined. Who knows? As I said the luggage store said they had heard of lots of ruined curling irons and indicated it happened with all kinds of adapotors.
I still think half a day at Disney is not really worth it. It is just too much to absorb in half a day and is fairly expensive for that. |
Patty, thanks for this explanation.
It seems people in stores even Radio Shack - they clueless, as I told I need to charge this and that. So, now I'll take your post to them... Wish me luck (and to my Revo - styler, really if some appliance is essential - why people would tell you to leave it home? still wondering...) |
