Other Travel Board
Hi, I've read that quite a few posters fom here also post on other travel boards, including one in particular -- a spin off of this one?? I can't remember the name of it, but I think I saw the initials as TA...??
Anyone know which one I mean? |
TA is Trip Advisor but it's not a spin off of Fodor's in any way, though some people do post on both boards.
I am pretty sure it is a different one you are referring to. |
Suze, Thanks. It isn't Trip Advisor or Slow Travel.... Just can't remember what it is...
Anyone? |
I think many went to Travelers To Go(?) or some name like that which has community boards. Definitely there are cross-posters to both Trip Advisor and Slow Travel but neither would be called a spin-off of this website.
|
Thanks, Suze. I do think it was travelers to go!
|
Isn't there another board for "Paris" topics that was started by some of the disillusioned TA posters?
|
Yes, Travelnut, this is the new Paris blog. Seems to have been started by Truffaut from TA:
http://www.ourparisblog.com/ |
It is Travelers To Go. I post on there off and on. There are some good trip reports and there is a gal that is doing a blog..she, her husband, and small daughter are in the process of traveling around the world for a few years. They sold everything and off the went, so I'm reading that when I have the time.

I just tried to "join" TTG to see what everyone is talking about and gave up for all the promotional garbage and "surveys" they require. God knows how much spam my e-mail is going to get bombed with. Did I do something wrong or is that "inquiry" required of everyone?

Thereyet - TTG is a community board on a site where people can create forums. The initial advertisement thing is part of the site that hosts all those forums. But you just scroll down a bit below that ad/survey and there's a "no thanks, continue" link. Normally I don't get that if I don't log out.
crefloors - I know just the blog you mean. I met the family by chance in Fez in April. Nice folks! |
TTG is by far the most real and informative. Real information you can actually use. It is also great to see lots of links and trip photos. It is the first one I turn to.
|
Ok Clifton, I figuered it out. Those surveys were ridiculous.

Travelnut, Thanks for the link to the Truffaut link. I didn't know about it.
Unless there is another "Truffaut," I am renting his apartment in the 17th for 2 weeks in October. |
And there is Truffaut, the Film director, R.I.P.
and the Truffaut gardening centers in Provence. Travelers to go has several members who travel to alot of places and are very knowledgable. There are no trolls there. |
Interesting - the Truffaut blog is the same with two different web addresses. I had bookmarked only the first one.
|
Thanks for that TTG site. Lots of really informative trips reports and you don't have to search for them. I really liked the photo sites , too.
|
The best thing about TTG is the photos. Look at the threads titled "Let There Be Light" or a color (Red). Many of the photos are fabulous.

Hi, I've changed a few things around with the blog and the forum. They each have their own URL, but you can access them from either other, as well.
The blog (we're not as good at updating as we should be) is at www.OurParisBlog.com. The discussion forum (which gets many postings every day) is at www.OurParisForum.com |
I really like the OurParisForum that is listed above. Great pictures on there as well!
