Off topic- Lawchick has given birth to a little fairy

Last time I was on this board (August 28th), I was due naturally on 4th December but that night I started bleeding heavily (in the office) and nearly lost the baby.
I was taken into hospital where I had to remain for complete bedrest... things were motoring along fine - until exactly one month later when I started bleeding again. It was decided that I should have a section on September 29th as I was losing too much blood. I had Christina under general anaesthetic. She was thirty weeks but was quite big for her age. She weighed 1 kg 800. She's quite healthy but still only little and will be kept in hospital until the 37th week or so. I am staying in a house for parents beside the hospital and see her all the time. I hold her about 6 hours per day. She looks like a little fairy!

I missed my holidays in the North of France as a result...but I'm looking forward to holidays for three from now on. Hope all here are well.

We've missed you, Lawchick, but I am glad to hear that you and Christina are doing well.

Take care of that wee litle girl and feed her lots (if she is eating yet) so she and you can go home soon.

Lawchick -

I am so happy for you! What a scary time you must have had . . . It is truly amazing what doctors are able to do now. Your little Christina is indeed a miracle baby.

My daughter has been trying to have a baby for a number of years. They have finally determined what may have been causing the difficulty and, after two surgeries, we are again hopeful.

My very best wishes to you and your lovely family.

granddutchess Oct 23rd, 2007 06:46 PM

Congratulations to your family on the birth of your daughter. They are truly miracles.

Heartiest congratulations Lawchick. You and your family are truly blessed. Take lots of pictures. You'll treasure them forever.

LoveItaly Oct 23rd, 2007 07:12 PM

Congratulations Lawchick, I have noticed that I have not seen posts from you as of late.

Your precious daughter Christina, she just couldn't wait to be with you and to be held in your loving arms.

May the days go by quickly and may your Christina and you be home as soon as possible. May life be good to your Christina. A daughter is a gift from God. ((F))

CAPH52 Oct 23rd, 2007 09:27 PM

Congratulations! So sorry that things didn't go quite as planned. But very happy to hear that all is well now. Hope you're able to take your little fairy home very soon!

lyb Oct 23rd, 2007 09:39 PM

Congratulations! I know how tough something like this can be...a good friend of mine had their baby prematurely and she was only 18 ounces at birth....the very good news is that baby Michelle is now 12 years old and doing great!

Take care of yourself and that precious little baby

Vitrual flowers for you and a virtual cuddle for Christina! (love the name!)

Carrybean Oct 24th, 2007 02:30 AM

Happy that things seem to be OK for you & the little one. Congratulations!

W9London Oct 24th, 2007 03:37 AM

Congratulations! From my own experience, flying long-haul avec kiddo is quite easy when she's young enough to fit into the bassinet and sleeps most of the day (little jetlag). I stock up on kid's clothing during semi-annual solde. Just think about mother-daughter Paris trip when she's older... Enjoy the little darling and take it easy!

RM67 Oct 24th, 2007 03:52 AM

Congratulations Lawchick!

Hope everything goes smoothly and that Christina is home asap.

avalon Oct 24th, 2007 03:56 AM

What grand news! I hope you soon have your little fairy safe at home in her own bed.

As an aside , I think it's wonderful the way the new parents can stay right alongside their babies until they are ready to come home. No in and out hospital births there!

Micheline Oct 24th, 2007 06:37 AM

How wonderful Lawchick! All the best to you and sweet Christina.

SharonG Oct 24th, 2007 06:51 AM

All the best to both of you.

Congratulations and all the best wishes!

kerouac Oct 24th, 2007 08:58 AM

My best friend and his partner had similar problems, and the baby that was due at the end of October was born in mid-August. I had to take the shaking but proud father to make the birth declaration and then rush to a hypermarket with him to buy all sorts of things earlier than expected. Six years later, Lisa is a delightful little girl and no one thinks back to those scary days.

Hello to Christina!

chepar Oct 24th, 2007 09:21 AM
